McKenzie Special School District identifies children between the ages of three and twenty one with special education needs. Educational needs are determined through child screening, evaluations, and parent interviews. Areas evaluated may include, but are not limited to, vision, speed, language, fine and gross motor skills, cognitive and adaptive development.
Following the evaluation, if the child is determined to meet Tenessee State Eligibiligy Standards and it is determined that the student is in need of special education services; an Individual Education Plan (IEP) will be developed for your child and an appropriate program will be offered to meet your child's needs.
