McKenzie Elementary will be sponsoring a mock presidential election under the direction of Guidance Counselor, Beckie Smith, Wednesday and Thursday. Ballots will be handed out during homeroom. Prior to voting, students had to complete a "Voter Registration Card" which required them to draw a picture of themselves, write their name, teacher's name and the date. (sample below). The actual ballot allows them to put a checkmark by the picture of the candidate of their choice (also, sample below). Students will have an opportunity to cast ballots at any time during the day. The results for MES will be announced on Friday.

One of our school objectives is to teach about being a good citizen and the fact that voting is both a right and a responsibility.

This "Mock Election" has been done in culmination with "Red Ribbon Week".
