VETERANS DAY 2019

McKenzie Elementary School hosted the annual Veterans Day program in the school’s gymnasium on Monday, November 11. Sgt. Tommy Hunyh of the U. S. Marine Corps was the featured guest speaker at this years program. Sgt. Hunyh is a native of California and son-in-law to our computer teacher Jill Warren.

Upon completion of the welcome and announcements by Principal Tonya Brown and Guidance Counselor Beckie Smith, Cub Scout Pack #78, led by Garrett Burns and Whitney Crocker, presented the Presentation of Flags.

 

 

 

Our 4th Grade Rebel Singers, conducted by Joanna Turner, graced us with special song in honoring our Veterans.

 

 

 

 Several of our MES students presented their essays on why they are Proud to be an American.

 

 

 

Principal Tonya Brown and Guidance Counselor Beckie Smith recognized the Military Branches and Home Front Helpers. At the completion of this, Claire Cottrill and Kim Essary performed Taps and a Moment of Silence ended the Veterans Day Program.

Refreshments and lunch was served to our Veterans who were present.
